Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

something wrong with (my?) polkit I believe, as I was not able to do several things that depended on polkit, like add users or change power management, Then I rebooted, and the panel was misbehaving (crashing?) panel went away, was redraw incompletely, went away, redrawn incompletely for about 10 times, then reported the crash and stayed visible.
