Clock applet has empty space when no location is selected

Bug Description

I've been using Hardy Heron Alpha 6 for the past couple of days. I noticed that the Clock Applet that's in alpha 6 has some empty space on the left - roughly 10 to 15 pixels. I tried to see if there was any preference that could possibly resize the applet so that there isn't so much of empty space on the left, but didn't find any. I tried several theme settings, but its not theme specific. It maintains its width even when its moved around.

Thanks for the bug report. You likely have no location configured and that's the space for the weather informations, that's a known issue

I followed Sebastian's cue and looked at the preferences for clock applet. The options for 'Show Weather' and 'Show Temperature' were checked by default. After they were unchecked the space on the left is no longer present. Thanks for looking into the matter.

Im running Karmic Alpha5 with gnome-panel 2.27.91 and unfortunately this bug isn't completely fixed yet.
When weather display is disabled in the clock preferences and a location is added afterwards the clock still adds the empty space to the left. (See attached screenshot)
Enabling and immediately disabling weather display in the preferences lets the blank space disappear again.
I know this is an older bug and not a huge deal but nevertheless unwanted behavior that i think should be fixed.
Thanks!
