Bug Description
I've updated my precise machine with the ubuntu one nightlies packages, and now I can't sign up. When I click the sign up button, the Ubuntu Single Sign On dialog is opened with the Network detection page saying "We can't detect an Internet connection".

At this moment, an apport crash report is opened ubuntu-sso-login-qt crashed with TypeError in got_state(): int() argument must be a string or a number, not 'object'

I'm pretty sure I know what is happening here.
A recent commit re-added this network detection page and started exercising previously unused network detection code that has a bug and outdated tests.
I'm working on a patch now.
