Yes! And the winner is the UPS: its USB interface is slower than a sloth in painkillers. I have played with plugging and unplugging my USB toyz and now I am typing this from Dapper (today's vintage).
Yet, I don't want to lose my ability to shutdown automagically this box if power cuts off. I wonder if the detection of usbhid devices can be sent to the background somehow...
