Bug Description

Please use Rosetta for translations of your project:
https://translations.launchpad.net/do/

This will save a lot of time both for you and for the translators. Plus when you get listed in the list of translatable projects:
https://translations.launchpad.net/translations/+products-with-translations
you will get *much* more translations than you would get normally.

I am looking forward to translating your project to my native language. Thanks.

I submitted a template to begin Rosetta translations two weeks ago,
and it is still pending review. Maybe I did something wrong...

IIRC the first submit is inspected manually by Rosetta administrators, so it may take some time. But two weeks seems to me quite long, I would recommend you to ask by email or in Rosetta Answers on current status.

I can't see the initial POT file. Maybe you should submit it again...

I have just exported all the translations and the POT file is just empty. No wonder no translations can be made.

I will look into it!

You need to update your POTFILES.in to generate the POT file correctly.
Use 'intltool-update -m' in the po/ dir to see what to are the file to update, then do a 'intltool-update -p' after updating POTFILES.in.
I give you a patch for current trunk to help you.

Hi,

So I tried to do as told by BobMauchin...

I didn't use his POTFILES.in, but I modified the one from the trunk and it's now working. the *.pot file have been generated.

I don't know why however my POTFILES.in is different from the one of BobMMauchin, maybe you can help me on this one Bob. I did as I was told when "intltool-update -m" and "intltool-update -p". Anayway, maybe you could review my POTFILES.in before submitting the *.pot file generated.

Here are the two mentionned files...

Have a nice day,
Blacko!

I wasn't able to attach the two files on the same comment, sorry... Why is it like this? Is it my mistake?

Sorry, but wtf are you doing?
I've pointed you this bug because it has to be solved before you can begin to translate. There's no need to add potfiles or translations here. If you have further questions, please ask them on our mailing list.

Sorry for the noise people.

Hi,

I was trying to help here.

I don't know much about Rosetta and the way it works to activate the
transaltion. However, I tryed to help and to do what you told us to do...

I updated the POTFILES.in to generate the POT file correctly. I used
"intltool-update -m" in the po/ directory to see what needed to be changes,
then I did a "intltool-update -p" after updating POTFILES.in.

So, as I'm not used to these modifications, I posted the new POTFILES.in and
the gnome-do.pot file create to get validation.

As I told you, I just tryed to help by doing what you mentioned was left to
do.

I didn't post any translation. The text in gnome-do.pot is still in English
and the POTFILES.in is, as for as I know (that means not too much...) not a
translation no?

Anyway, I hope you can tell me what to do instead,
I really want to help out on this projet,
Have a nice day,
Blacko

Blacko: What BobMauchin said was imho meant for David Siegel, the administrator of this project. He's the only one who can get the translations working. There's nothing normal users can do about it (except waiting).

Since there are still no strings available on the translation page

therefore yes, some work is certainly needed to be done :)

And then maybe you should upload the POT in the "translation" tab, I don't really know how it works with initial translation.
