Cursor icon for Select/transform tool

I like it with the cross hair as well.

Does seem to be better IMHO..

I'd much rather have all the cursor in standalone files that can be changed and replaced to the user's preference. This cursor is not that much better.

That's a different request -> please file a separate report for it or subscribe to one of the existing feature requests related to cursor symbols, like e.g.:

Bug #172230 “Option of precise cursors for tools”
Bug #654592 “[Feature request] Tool cursor icons as vectors.”

I wish to add my vote for a better cursor. The hand icon is a bit outdated in appearance. A cross hair added to the cursor would give Inkscape a more profession look/feel.

Had I known that there's still interest in this, I would have updated the patch (the current pointer symbol itself is slightly mangled ever since the fourth finger was added (bug #598821)).

Attaching updated patch which I have been using personally in all my trunk builds.

Remaining diff of current trunk r11570 and the newer version of the modified cursor-select symbols.

JFTR: The new symbol for the select tool was based on the one from GIMP for the Move Tool.
