Using

        Option "AccelMethod" "EXA"
        Option "ExaNoComposite" "false"
        Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy"

has fixed current Hardy for me. No longer is it balls-achingly slow. Firefox now scrolls extremely fast and smoothly.
