I hadn't thought about this earlier, but I just did some 10.04.1 iso-testing today, and I see that includes Wubi testing:

If you had time to duplicate this error with the lucid/daily-live/20100816.1 image it might help greatly toward getting this bug fixed.

I'd help more but I've never been able to complete a Wubi install of 10.04 :^(
