a) It isn't a 'fix' it's a 'workaround'. New user has to search the web for an answer or reported bugs.
b) This is a no go regarding the mission 'user-friendly', since system preferences -> shortcuts state the shortcut is Alt+F2 (screenshot), btw. Alt+F1 also doesn't run.
