Comment 138 for bug 387308

Status changed from Confirmed to New and then to Confirmed again?
And it's still on the wishlist?
This BUG is registered over two years now., think about it...
Most of the users i know switched over to dropbox and sugarsync for filesync,
because it's no hassle for those programs to use proxies!
Ubuntu is missing a huge source of users (and income) by not supporting proxies.
Many users would like to get access to their files (including music) from office.
And they (including me) have no problem to pay a small fee for this "luxury".
