I would like to comment on one thing about what David is stating, something
I believe has been previously stated.

Ubuntu One is (potentially) a commercial product. If it could work
flawlessly behind a proxy, most likely, I would be signing up to upgrade my
account. It is clear that I am far from being the only person in this
situation.
Now I'm using a Dropbox free account. Kudos for developing a stable and
*useful* Linux client.

In a previous post it was explained why this bug is not Wishlist.
Tagging a bug that makes the software useless for a whole bunch of people as
wishlist after two years is quite disrespectful.
