This was affecting me but after updating to the networkmanager as posted by Alexander it appears resolved. I run a Lenovo T61 with an Atheros AR5212 (IBM device 058a) and my association was timing out to an AP with WPA-Personal ( PSK ) enabled. Thanks Alexander !!!
