Got new results: Workaround.
1) Add nomodeset to the grub options in /etc/default/grub 2) Run update-grub 3) Restart 4) Somehow, it will be fallback to the console. But just hitting CTRL+ALT+F7 the normal Ubuntu initialization starts (with that white line in the middle)
