That's a BIOS-dependent fluke, and would only get any kind of results
sometimes. For it to really work properly, support for the 8xx series's
interface to the additional chips that series used for TV-out must be
added to the upstream -intel driver. All the information necessary to
write that code is publicly available, but there needs to be someone who
would actually sit down and write it, and the people already working on
that driver have a main focus on Intel hardware that is still being
made, rather than 8xx.
