I see to have the same issue with my Inspiron 700m (intel 855GM)... there is no sign of the TV out when running xrandr --prof.

http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Config does not help.

xrandr: cannot find output "TV"

I tried on Intel drivers 2:2.3.2-1ubuntu3 and the hardy drivers.

[from my searches, there seems to be many people having problems with 855GM - can this be a higher priority than 'wishlist'?)
