I got all the packages installed and ran the commands without error but I didn't know what flags to add for ubuntu 8.04 (like --prefix=, --exec-prefix=, --libdir=, --sysconfdir= etc). Anyway, without any flags added, I rebooted and got the same black screen.
How do I know what version of the intel graphics driver is loaded? Is there a command I can run which will return it?
Also, what flags should I have added when compiling and installing the intel 2.2.0 driver?
I also tried to install the latest version of the intel driver (2.2.0) from http:// intellinuxgraph ics.org/ install. html
