I've been able to spend a good couple of hours using XRANDR with the Intel GM965 chipset system I have got. Their are multiple fail types. I have tried to compile the complete list here:

> Any xrandr changes to the TV output require a system reboot before they are applied. Xrandr will report immediately however that the change was successful.
> Sometimes not even a reboot will make a change in xrandr work and it will have reverted to its previous state
> On any boot, the TV output may be working, the VGA output may be working, both may be working, or neither maybe working. I can reboot over and over again without making any changes and cannot predict what will be enabled with the next boot. xrandr will always report that both VGA and TV are both working.
> If the TV is on and output enabled, any changes made to the TV output using xrandr causes the TV to switch off. A reboot is required to turn it back on and to see the new changes.
> The graphical xrandr tool (preferences > screen resolution) has randomly crashed when changing screen resolutions when the "cloned output" tickbox is checked.

xrandr -v: version is 1.2

I will post xorg.conf and the outputs from xrandr -q
