+1 confirmed here. Dell Inspiron 1545, 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07)

Occurs in 10.04. Did not occur in 9.04. I am not interested in using either workaround. My thanks to those whom continue to research this.
