I hadn't the time to try that kernel of yours but latter maybe this weekend I'll try then.
I have another *maybe interesting* fact to report: I installed KDE in this Ubuntu 10.04 and since then I have no screen glitches/flickering! Nothing at all. Even in Gnome. Maybe this problem/bug is related to the gnome-power-manager or something?
Notice I'm running '2.6.32-22-generic' kernel and this Ubuntu 10.04 was a fresh install. I have an Intel 915GM Chipset in this Sony laptop and X.Org X Server 1.7.6.
