This bug was fixed in the package xserver-xorg-video-intel - 2:2.6.3-0ubuntu10

* Add 121_i965_default_to_virtual_2048_2048.patch, to force the default Virtual resolution on i965 to 2048x2048 if not otherwise specified in xorg.conf. This works around freeze issues seen on this hardware. (LP: #359392)
