Comment 90 for bug 345119

I have similar problem on Dell 6400 with Intel 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:27a2] (rev 03) . After trying almost everything suggested in this and other threads -- including kernel 2.6.30 with driver 2.6 and 2.8 -- I've downgrades Intel video driver to 2.4 (as described in Jaunty Release Notes), I think this is the Hardy release, and have not had a freeze in the last 5 days.

Reverted to kernel 2.6.28-13, with Compiz set to 'normal'.

Has anyone else had this type of 'success' -- maybe it's because my fingers are still crossed?
