I have the same problem on my Latitude D820 with intel chipset.
lspci |grep VGA gives the folowing:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)
It's starts after the login screen. It starts flickering every 10 seconds on the second screen. And it never stops.
My laptop screen is stable. The resolution i use on both screens are: 1680x1050
I use xrandr for using dualscreen, but even disabling that doesn't stop the flickering.
There are no updates available at the moment, so i'm working on the latest version of Intrepid.
