Please re-test against current Karmic to see if the bug still occurs. There have been a number of improvements lately to 8xx cards so the issue may now be resolved. If not, on the upstream bug report please attach the output of `lsmod`, a fresh Xorg.0.log, and the output from `dmesg` after reproducing the problem.
