Scratch that: endgame still triggers it for me. Nothing else does. Even endgame without shadows or smoothing does it within 10 seconds.

Part of the problem here is that X tries to restart several times, I think. In doing this, its overwriting the log: but I did get this from Xorg.log.0.old:
(normal startup messages)

(thats the end of file)
