I have a Lenovo ThinkPad X61t (model # 776298U) and I can play Enemy Territory, bzflag, lincity-ng, et al and I have not had any 3d issues... my 3d (GL) screensavers seem to work fine.

It looks like it runs the Santa Rosa chipset. This new model of Thinkpad X61t was released in October / November 2007 I believe.

I'm running Ubuntu / Kubuntu 7.10 amd64 edition...
