About updates, i think if you install a package, the package overwrite modules compiled by script.
I have the package xserver-xorg-video-intel pendding of install. The better option is install the package, check if this bug is corrected with the package, (blender, games...)... and then, if all is correct, then, all done. else, launch again the script to download and compile mesa again.
If someone was installed the last xserver-xorg-video-intel package... Could say if the package solved this bug?
