Hi,

I faced some problems too with the Compaq 6510b...
I solved installing the xserver-xorg-video-intel and the compizconfig-settings-manager packages... The 3D, resolution, all working well. My xorg-conf is attached. Please notice that the resolution of the monitor is fake....

However, the dual-screen does not work properly. When I connect the external monitor the laptop's monitor resolution crashes and I can't manage how I make a extended (right-side) screen. I just take a copy from the laptop's monitor on the external one.

Some idea???
