Still no joy for me - last Friday my laptop kept hanging - beyond the power of ctrl-alt-sysreq-b
I had copied my modules to the right place.
Today I have the latest Tormod and git update and build radeon.ko and drm.ko; I rmmod fglrx and modprobe these, but things are still slow.
$ lsmod | grep radeon radeon 357408 0 drm 203296 1 radeon
Should "radeon" have a reference count of 0 when X is running?
I've tried driver "radeon" "radeonhd" and "ati" but it makes no difference.
Firefox paints slowly if I do page-down, but even slower if I do line-down and it has to copy part of the screen.
my xorg.conf is as my post above
