saliheenm, I wonder if that helped just because DRI is disabled with radeonhd. Try Option "DRI" "off" with the -radeon/-ati driver.

Ian, this is possible, but you can work around it by making a minimal xorg.conf where you specify the "ati" driver.

What Jens said :) I provide the packages as-is and they are sometimes hardly tested.
