Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati

When rotating the screen, either through the screen resolution tool or by using xrandr -o left, the whole system freezes. Keycombinations like ctr-alt-backspace and ctrl alt delete don't work and I have to restart the pc.

Please update to the newest xserver-xorg-video-ati 6.9.0+git20081003... it should be fixed there.

If it still occurs please report it, if it doesn't occur please report that too.

It still occurs with that version. This can be very problematic because after trying to rotate using the screen resolution tool, the system froze after every reboot. I finally found out deleting ~/.config/Monitors.xml fixed that.

rotation isn't supported yet on r6xx and newer hw (including the HD3200).

Ah ok I didn't know that, but still I think it should not completely lock up the pc. There should just be an error message then saying it is not supported.
