Unfortunately this later revision of the ati xserver does not appear to fix the problem :-(

The laptop is OK doing X->Text switch, but on Text->X experiences a complete 'lock up'.

I have also attached the /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old. The TV stuff at the end is added after the X->Text switch, no other logs when Text->X.
