Ghostscript developer Ralph Giles tells in the referenced Ghostscript upstream bug report that the 64K array size limit is standard in PostScript according to Adobe's specs. Therefore the bug is in Poppler (the creator of the PostScript file with the too big array). Moved bug appropriately.
