Subject: Scott Pilgrim?

We can all sit here and cite statistics and anecdotal evidence until the end of time. The truth is that America is very large and culturally diverse with regards to opinions and uses of firearms. America is more diverse than any other country in the world, which makes points about firearms and laws in other countries akin to comparing apples with oranges. What may be true in Los Angeles, California may not be true in Lexington, Kentucky. You can't regulate New York like you regulate Montana. The fact of the matter is that even banning firearms outright does not remove them from a society as large as America. Incidents like this will happen. Incidents of self defense with firearms will also happen. If not at Wal-Mart then somewhere else. Guns aside, people will screw up, accidents will happen, and people will die. It's because we are all human and thus imperfect. As a global society, we need to accept that shit has happened and more shit is going to happen. That is why I think that this, albeit tragic, shouldn't even be a national news story any more than a traffic accident that claims a life. Bring the down votes, but I think people unintentionally suck at lots of things.
