please don't reopen just to ask a question. If you are still affected, please indicate so. The changelog mentions when and how this was fixed.

xorg-server (2:1.6.3-1ubuntu7) karmic; urgency=low

  * Add 187_lastdeviceeventtime-no-reset.patch: Avoids resetting IDLETIME on
    DPMS events. Cherrypick from upstream.
