kvm (or qemu) emulates a Cirrus Logic GD 5446 graphics card. That's how I ran into this: I was testing a Xubuntu ISO under kvm. I'll undo the status change to invalid for now, and will test the current xubuntu ISO for karmic to see if this still happens.
