Comment 59 for bug 199331

From what I figured from what he said, George applied a fix to the unicode ranges so they can be overridden from the .sfd file, but reverted the change that required the .sym extension. If so, Wine would be fine, just need to add those overrides to the .sfd. Maybe someone could check out the current fontforge cvs and see if it works like that now...
