This is an awkward situation indeed. There are two use cases:

- The user has a UNIX-like filesystem on the disc and wants to honor its permissions
- The user just wants to watch a DVD

Perhaps we can assume that if the filesystem contents indicate that it is a
video disc, we should ignore the permissions?
