Comment 9 for bug 129925

I have the same problem in my Gutsy Gibbon (7.10).
I've installed all the plugin packages I know include:

 * gstreamer0.10-plugins-good
 * gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad
 * gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly
 * gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly-multiverse

After all installation and reboot, the same problem still exists.
I started my totem in term and get these messages on run:

No URI handler for vcd

** Message: Missing plugin: gstreamer|0.10|totem|VCD protocol source|urisource-vcd (VCD protocol source)
no application found
** Message: No installation candidate for missing plugins found.
** Message: Error: A VCD protocol source plugin is required to play this stream, but not installed.
gstplaybasebin.c(1604): gen_source_element (): /play:
No URI handler for vcd

** Message: Missing plugin: gstreamer|0.10|totem|VCD protocol source|urisource-vcd (ignoring)
** Message: All missing plugins are blacklisted, doing nothing

I then start totem with strace. The log is very long and is attached here
