To the author of comment #59:

Open source is supposed to be open to suggestions and to feedback.

The alleged "I agree" posting (comment #58) was more than that. It introduced
three common arguments, which are often brought up as reasons against the
implementation of editable "From:" fields.

An alternate program (Eudora) which incorporates the desired functionality was
named. Thus people get the chance to look at a useable implementation of the
discussed feature, if interested.

This should help not only to see, that the above mentioned arguments are not
substantial, but could also give an impression of what people actually ask for
in this bug and how it could be implemented in Mozilla.

The feature request discussed here is often misunderstood or in other cases
referred to as exotic or unnecessary, as it results from a suppposedly uncommon
way of handling emails. To prove this assumption wrong it is to a certain degree
justifiable and/or necessary to repeat the request for this feature, including
the description of one's way of handling mail as the underlying reason for the
request.

Your statement on the other hand did not contribute to the discussion of this "bug":

Hinting at the ability of voting was needless (at least regarding my person), as
you could have seen, that I already did and thus was aware of the chance to do so.

Your "fix it yourself" comment proves ignorance towards the diversity of an open
source community. Programming is not the only form of participation. Thankworthy
not many open source programmers shows your kind of arrogance, but accept
criticism and requests as what they are: a suggestion for improvement and a
chance for the implementation of possibly popular features.
