The real fix is to replace this line (line 46 on the last gutsy build) :

DEB_DH_INSTALL_ARGS_thunderbird := -Xgnome -Ximgicon -Xmozlibthai

By this one :
DEB_DH_INSTALL_ARGS_thunderbird := -Xgnome -Xmozlibthai
