Comment 50 for bug 66104

I upgraded my gutsy machine to the release candidate of hardy today. Thereby a few scim-* packages got installed which brought the described behaviour to my system. Most applications became nearly unusable, e.g. konsole. Also various dialogs in the mythtv application showed the mentioned behaviour. I fixed the issue for me by purging all scim-* packages that got installed due to the upgrade.

As the release candidate already contains libx11 (2:1.1.3-1ubuntu2) I doubt that the issue is already completely fixed. In fact my machine was still affected.
