Any application which uses QSslSocket will fail, as it is *QT* who tries to open libssl.so and not Mumble. And that Qt4 is provided with Ubuntu.

You need to have either the libssl or libqt package provide the link, or you need to modify the source for Qt so it looks for a different library.
