Comment 72 for bug 156085

I wanted to add a comment here as one of the VirtualBox developers. From my point of view, the second solution offered by Martin in comment 53 - using ACLs to make certain devices available - sounds like a good one. However, since the OS probably can't guess in advance which devices the user will want available in a VM, and making all devices available is probably not a good idea, it would be very nice if the user had some way of choosing devices.

Of course, this would only become really useful to us if other distributions did it the same way, but it would be a good start if Ubuntu were to do it :)
