Comment 24 for bug 411574

Just as an added detail, my speakers make crackling sounds when sound should be playing.

I'm pretty frustrated with the work on this bug as well. I've had this problem on every release of Ubuntu for the past year and a half (until things get ironed out a week or two after the release).

Lately its seemed that proprietary sound cards enjoy better support on Linux then ones built by companies that support open standards and release open source drivers....please somebody, prove me wrong!
