When reporting a bug or describing a problem, never just say "It didn't do X." We also need to know what happened instead of the desired behavior. Like if you're still getting the error message, for example. If nothing happens, we need to know that too, because if you don't specify it sounds like you're leaving out a detail.
If there's no error and you're just not connected, it's because the account was disabled from when you got the error with the earlier version. You need to go to the accounts menu, then "Enable Accounts", and select your ICQ account.
