I confirm that I have the same problem crashing with notes inserted in a document. I am running kubuntu 9.10 with the latest updates. I have OpenOffice 3.1.1 OOO310m19 (Build 9420).

Everything works fine if I remove the "notes" and then save.

This is a very critical problem, since I constantly work with documents passed on to windows users..
