I had to leave a terminal window open and run the killall command below
each time the error window appeared during the upgrade because it
appeared to spawn a new process each time a step in the upgrade occurred
but the upgrade eventually completed successfully. I had to run the
command about 10 times because it was affecting 5 packages - pdfimport,
emailmerge, report-builder, filter-binfilter and presenter-console and
they are now all installed and running. Thanks again.
