I faced the same problem on 10.04 alpha 2.
I installed the alpha 64 bits version with the following commands :
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sevenmachines/flash
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install flashplugin64-installer
I did not experience any crash since that installation : it looks more stable to me than with the nspluginwrapper.
Maybe this version should be packaged by default on Lucid, instead of the 32bit version + nspluginwrapper
