I should be suprised by these things, but i'm not anymore.

They seem to think that we report bugs like this from a sort of theoretical point of view.
Not just because it annoys us.

Here's a solution:
  - pop up a message the first time somebody has a notification, explaining why it's so ugly.

Perhaps it will annoy it us less, if we knew what the flawed reasoning was.
