I am experiencing the same problem ('Connect' button greyed out for my hidden wireless network connection) with my Ubuntu 9.10 install on a Dell Vostro 1320 laptop. Only after I alter the key, save it, then restore the correct key, and save it (through 'Network Connections'), does it connect to my wireless network.
